Kennesaw State University
Christian Hardigree established the Institute for Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality program at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. The program which offers a bachelor of science degree in culinary sustainability and hospitality, is a collaborative endeavor between the WellStar College of Health and Human Services and the Coles Business College. The program provides a competitive advantage and discernible point of difference as the epicenter for teaching, research and best practices in sustainable culinary and hospitality management.
Before working at KSU, Hardigree was a tenured faculty member at the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She taught graduate and undergraduate courses in law, ethics and diversity. During her tenure at UNLV, she was assistant president and chief of staff to the university president, associate dean for strategic initiatives in the hotel college, chairman of the hotel management department, and was associate athletic director for community development and special projects. Hardigree has been teaching at UNLV since 1997.
In addition to her educational and administrative obligations, Hardigree is a trial attorney who primarily focuses on premises liability, security/safety, product liability and employment law. She maintains an active caseload, including private consulting and mediation/arbitration services. She is a Nevada state appointed arbitrator and is licensed to practice law in Nevada, Georgia, and United States District Court in Nevada.
Hardigree conducts and presents research on food safety, risk management, sustainability, workplace violence and employment issues. She is an expert on bed-bug litigation.
After obtaining her bachelor of science degree, cum laude, from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV, Hardigree obtained her juris doctorate from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, focusing on employment discrimination, arbitration/mediation and labor-management relations. She is a partner with the law firm of Parnell & Associates.
